[JUSEP]Which is better, Peek or Polyoxymethylene?

  • Release time: 2025-03-06

PEEK polyether ether ketone is a special engineering plastic used in automobiles, aviation, machinery, etc. It has high mechanical properties, excellent dimensional stability, high wear resistance, high temperature resistance, chemical resistance, hydrolysis resistance, and so on.
POM polyoxymethylene, commonly known as Saigang, is a general-purpose engineering plastic with high mechanical strength and wear resistance. It is mainly used in the production of components such as gears.
POM and PEEK are two materials that do not belong to the same grade, and PEEK is superior to POM in terms of temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and mechanical strength. Of course, the price of PEEK is much higher than that of POM. Of course, it still depends on the specific application scenario.
If there are requirements for wear resistance and hardness at high temperatures, PEEK is still a better choice. PEEK belongs to thermoplastic special engineering plastics, which can be processed through injection molding, lathe, CNC precision machining, and can meet the requirements for use in harsh environments.
