[JUSEP] What is the hardness of Peek material?

  • Release time: 2025-03-06

The hardness of PEEK material depends on whether it is pure material, added with glass fiber or other additives. Generally, the Shore D of pure PEEK is 88, the Shore D of glass fiber reinforced PEEK is generally D89, and the Shore D of carbon fiber reinforced PEEK is generally D91. However, different degrees of crystallinity can also result in varying degrees of hardness.
The characteristics of PEEK material are its high continuous use temperature, approximately 260 degrees, excellent heat resistance, non deformation performance, and chemical stability. It also has high creep strength and toughness, and is used in piston sealing gaskets, sliding bearings, valve seats, bearing sleeves, embedded gears, pump impellers, plug connections, and sealing rings.
